I’d feel great about it if it were opening soon but still a week and a half out. Fingers crossed they keep coming. Saw a good many acorn on the ground yesterday while baiting.

This one was checking out my roller barrel.

I think I had 3 different bears show up over the past week.

Today I opened up the buffet, including this lovely charcuterie setting.

I'm hoping Wednesday afternoon camera check is much different.

Just got my main bait set up an hour ago. 150 pounds of corn, 100 pounds of dog food, assorted bread, some sweets, big ass bag of popsicle starters, and 10 gallons of bacon grease. Also have the Forafrank bait set up. We’ll see how it goes. One way or the other, I’m only baiting 10 days this year. They can bite my muscadines if that doesn’t work.

And on my way out I busted a 20-plus covey of quail out of the road. That alone was worth the effort. I’m so glad to see those guys back on a regular basis.

If you had a single coming in a lot (and so far not much else) and you had a goal of a cinnamon, would you shoot one this size? No judgment either way. Just curious. Seems might need to let him grow and hope for next time. But man, hard to not want to. (Got him a peanut butter sandwich.)

Nothing wrong with that bear if that’s your interest. Very cool color. I’ve been to a couple of G&F bear hunting seminars and they actively encourage hunters to shoot those 130-pound, teenager-type bears.

Well bears have found both my baits so now it will be a matter of keeping them full. Several acorns and hickory nuts on the ground already this afternoon from the wind this morning.

I set two bait stations yesterday, one I did not get set due to ATV issues

Already one small bear on one of them (Spypoint) ... never used cellular game cam's before.

Is your barrel attached to anything, or just standing there? Roller barrel on a cable? Curious how it doesn’t get rolled away if it’s not staked in some way?

Three bears there 1.5hr ago……

Refilled bait and changed batteries in camera yesterday before we headed home from the velvet hunt. Left the bait at 1:45pm and had a bear at 4:30pm

I bought two Spypoint cameras - Sam's .... easy to set up. Thought they'd be fun

the camera I have over my barrel transmitted until this morning - after it took a pic of a bear this morning all communication ended. Im thinking a bear ate my camera or its defective
