I have with a bow and took them both times. A lot has to be how you feel and area you are shooting. So that doesn’t mean I will always take the shot. Heck I have screwed up more on what most call text book shots, than I have taking shots most would never think about.

 

If I don't shoot it, it'll just run over to the neighbor's and they'll shoot it. I shoot everything that moves.

Running is kinda relative. I have shot running deer on even ground in the open with a rifle with open sights at around 50 with 30'06 shot 3 times hit 2 times once in lungs once in the neck. Also, shot one running at 30 yards with a shotgun one shot hit with 3 00 neck, shoulder and spine. If a deer is running through trees or jumping and running then no would be the answer. With a bow only standing still.

 

I grunted at a big buck one time and he wheeled and came. It was a Hail Mary deal. He came running in and I couldn’t get him to stop. I shot and killed him on fast trot but my shot was back. Luckily it got all kinds of arteries in groin area and he didn’t make it far. That’s the only one I’ve shot hard moving.

 

I have shot many on a steady predictable walk. Never a running with a bow.

I doubt anyone can do it with a compound with any reasonable success rate

 

Curious to your logic behind that? I use to could shoot a balloon out of a rolling tire at a very high success rate with a compound.
