Thank you very much yes I was talking to some one a couple days ago and they told me if I'm not hunting squirrel or woodcock's then I should not get a cur...because some of them are stubborn and hard to train so trying to turn them to bay and catch dogs would not be easily done....I just found a nice catcher pup pitbull bullmastiff cross... beautiful dogs..thank you again..

 

You wouldn’t have to teach a BMC to bay and catch hogs. Pretty sure that’ll come pretty natural to them. And I wouldn’t say they’re hard to train or stubborn. Most everyone of em I’ve seen or messed with are very eager to please and if treated right make good dogs

 

best dog I ever had was a bmc ladner strain. we taught her to sit, stay, lead on a leash. we took her to the woods and she taught us how a good dog trees... it was natural to her. silent on the track, chop at the tree... vicious on game of all sizes. she treed two bear for us... fought one of them... it sounds larger than life to talk about now... prob wont ever have another dog live up to her reputation. she kept a sow hog from getting me when I was cutting the piglets. tackled it by the ear... I miss our Maggie...
