Well I was back today on the trail where I watched a couple bears walk yesterday and didn’t even see a squirrel. I had the thermals in my favor and everything else that I could think of was right. I felt so confident that I brought in the frame pack with me and figured I could pack out the biggest bear I saw yesterday in two loads.
If anyone hasn’t figured it out yet, bear hunting in Arkansas with or without bait is hard. Especially if you’re trying to shoot one with a longbow.
The kids haven’t had any luck on the baits this year either so far. We’ve still got bears coming in but they’re almost always after dark. I’ve pretty much handed the zone 2 private land to my nephew this year and he’s done very well considering the timber was thinned three weeks before we put out baits. I’ll be out again tomorrow trying to stumble into one on public but it’s not looking good for us this year.

Gotta head home today. She’s missed all the school Momma will allow😳. Can’t make it back til next weekend to give the bucks a shot. But we may be exploring options for attaching a Bog Pod to a buddy stand this week!
you got bucks for sure !!
