I'm looking to build a home defense shot gun on a Remington 870 I just picked up and thought I'd ask if any of you guys had anything you would let go of. I need pistol grips, heat shield, 18" barrle, and whatever else I may need to do this. Thanks fella's.

Wish they had home defense shells like the ones Winchester makes for a 410

I plan on using 00 buckshot!

Have you ever seen what a load of #4's do at 10 yards? 00 will penetrate two or three walls and kill somebody at the other end of your house, or go through a window and hit your neightbor. I sold a liquor store owner a shotgun to keep behind the counter, and showed him why he should use bird shot instead of buck. Made a believer of him. A turkey load will nearly cut a man in two at 5 yards, even from an open choke.
How far will you be shooting inside a house?

My longest shot wouldn't be more than 6-7 yards. I just thought 00 buckshot cus if someone comes in my house and I feel that I need to pull the trigger I want them dead not wounded. Bird shot would have more shot to it tho. May need to put a sheet up to shoot when I get it done. Thanks for the input got me to thinking. Any other advice would be great!

I have a sure fire forfend with integrated light, knoxx collapsible stock and cheek rest with shell holder to fit an 870. All of it was just installed never used. Email me at [email protected] for pics

Got pistol grip and new forend in the mail today. I really need a short barrle 18 or 18 1/2"s would be great. New ones are $100+ really don't want to spend that much. If any one has an extra bird shot barrle I'll do that and just cut mine down.
