Say what you will, but we stumbled upon 2 wolves while deer hunting down by the Mulberry last night. We had seen a bunch of tracks, but I just figured they were dogs or coyotes. Last week there was a deer carcass on the river bank, but not all in one area. There was a leg here and there, body parts spread out in about 5 different areas. Almost like it was a pack of wolves.... Gonna be setting up some cameras soon to see if it really was, but it was definitely a wolf, or a steroided up yote that stood 4 and a half feet off the ground on all fours...

I have seen some big coyotes and my mind made them wolves , then I actually seen wolves in Montana and realized just how dissimilar the 2 are. I would think it would be far fetched to see a wolf in Arkansas but then again a mountain loin was killed there over the weekend

I went on a wolf hunt when I was 15. A friend saw it in the yard in the dark. The next morning we turned 40 walkers out in his yard. The dogs struck it in the first thicket. We chased up and down the roads with trucks trying to head it off. Another young man that was my age had been let out by his dad on a hill top was in the right crossing. He shot the beast with a 308 and it went down but got up and ran into a thicket. He said the animal was 3 times larger than the walker hounds. The dogs cornered the wounded animal in a thicket and there was a lot of fighting. I wanted to go look for the wolf but none of the men would go into the thicket to look for it. And they wouldn't let me or the shooter go either. This was close to Old Davidsonville state park. probably 1976 or 77. I didn't see the wolf but the kid that shot it was convinced that it was one.

guys i live in white county, about 10yrs ago a male full blooded canadian timber wolf got loose from a exotic farm and was never caught and no word of anyone shooting him. since then there have been some huge coyotes killed within a mile of the farm. some black,some almost brindle and some cream colored. i have killed a black one around 75lbs and my son killed a cream around the same size. and yes they will breed with a yote. now him being loose theres a very good chance he bred some female yotes. here are some news links about cross breeding.

Everything looks bigger in the moment...just like all these Just shot a monster and can't find him" threads that when or more acurately if they find it, ends up being a 120 incher or less...it was just a big coyote or less likely, a coyote with some red wolf genes in him that has eaten well. Just think about how all of the animals are doing well due to the good weather we've had the last couple of years...when all the prey animals flourish...so do the predators

I think it was two years ago but maybe three. A guy in Salem trapped a 90 pound hybrid. The G&F came and blood tested it and it was verified to have wolf DNA. They called him and told him to kill it immediately. I didn't personally know him but one of my best friends does and he spoke with him. Not sure how it ended up there so not likely but possible. I saw one dead yesterday that was one of the biggest I've ever seen.
