To me its more of a challenge to set 50-75 on the water.

But you gotta scare them up to shoot'em.

I rather swat them on the water, don't have to burn my shells up on cripples making unbelievable shots... :thumb:

Jump shooting is fun sometimes too.
We sneak up on em,shoot in amongst them, and then try to get two more when they fly.

As far as I can tell a duck taste the same whether it's shot on the water or in the air.

You can't eat the air. Better let 'em sit still and then whack 'em.

I had a buddy that would always say "wait till they light"! Then he'd shoot 'em right out of the decoys and of course he'd sink one or two every time. About once a week we'd have to haul in a load of decoys and caulk 'em up!:fit:

Answer this question: Why is it "unethical" to shoot a sitting duck but also "unethical" to shoot at a running deer?

I tried to kill two ducks in one shot one time. They were on a slough, so I waited until two were side by side. Shot once and killed 6 wood ducks. One of them was the only banded duck I ever killed. Thought that was pretty neat, and did the same thing a few weeks later, but no band. That was a LONG time ago.

I got my limit of gadwalls in one shot several years ago on Nimrod Lake.

Oh crap...I mentioned a location. That place'll be crawling with BBDH's.

 I don't know. I guess for the same reason it's ethical to spotlight a frog but not a deer.

LOL, excellent! Same thing with shooting ducks over corn, and slicing a doe with her head stuck in a bucket full of it.

In all reality it's a lot easier to kill one fluttering over the decoys that to kill one sitting on the water, and that's looking it at from the perspective of how ineffective steel shot seems to be with a duck on the water. Besides, they make a much bigger target and they usually aren't moving much.
