Anyone started yet?
Not yet. Probably get after when all the gun deer seasons close.
not me, I would never....... lol
I’ve been trapping and fishing for months with no luck.
My boy and I trapped last week while he was out of school. From Wed. Morning till this past monday morning we caught 4 gray foxes, 4 possums and 2 coons.
Need to change bait.
he needs to use bait lol
Pretty fox. I saw a big grey cross the road into a property I trap last week. Gave me the bug. Gonna try to put a few sets out this weekend.
Planning set few snares.
I made 6 dirt hole sets yesterday. I had my first successful catch last night, a gray fox. The only problem is the yotes got to him before I did. I am a novice and I've only watched videos to acquire knowledge. I tried a few sets last year but didn't have any luck. I had 3 more thrown today with small amounts of blood and what appeared to be yote fur on them.
Yotes are opportunistic for sure. Might consider tightening the pan tension on your traps. Should help with fired empty traps.
I will give that a try. Thanks for the advise!
My son went out by himself yesterday for the first time ever and set 7 traps. Caught a coon this morning and he's out now reaetting.
Love the hat!
His uncle caught that coon and had it made into a hat.
Who made the hat. I need 3 made
I don't know who made it. Some fur company thay makes anything you want from hats to coats. They have an ad in Fur Fish and Game. He had that hat and a beaver hat made for himself. He mailed the hides to them and they mailed the hats back about a year later.
I'm headed to set tomorrow. Anybody catching coons lately?
I caught 10 in 6 checks running 6 traps.
Set 9 predator sets, 6 coon and 2 mink sets today.....already caught 4 coyotes,1 bobcat and 7 coons off this property a week ago in 2 nights...I pulled traps the day we had that big rain....went in today and almost everyone of my previous hole sets was dug completely out from my bait over a week ago.....so optimistic for the morning!
