I have to admit I am a little intrigued by the these cutdowns. It's sound like they fit my style of blowing (which isn't real good) but I am intersted in not only running one but also seeing how ducks react to it in the timber. I'm kinda cheap and this is the first year in a while that I've really done a bunch of duck hunting and that's just because we've had some really good hunts. Now all that being said, does anyone that runs a cutdown (preferably a 50-11 or a colt45) want to hook up for a hunt? All you need is shotgun, shells, and waders and a vehicle to get you here, I"ll take care of the rest. If you are driving from any distance and want to bring a buddy to split gas, that is fine with me. If you have 2 and can bring one that I can run while we hunt, that would even be better. We'll be timber hunting and it's is hunting, we could severely whack them or they may not be here BUT bird numbers have been pretty consistent. Working them as always has been the biggest challenge and I'm interested to see how the ducks respond to this call and to the caller. That's pretty much all the info I'll be providing until arrival:biggrin: Anyone interested?

I happen to have 5 diffrent brands you can hear and I dont need alot of ducks if we can see a few I'll bring a buddy and we will kill what we see. a cut down won't do anything an echo or rnt or buck gardner won't do, a duck call is a duck call...been doin it for 20 years and i use several different calls including a cut down bakelite olt and echo's and they are all the same...don't buy into all the hype because almost everyone on here is representing someone who makes a cut down style call.

a cut down ain't no better than anything else, don't buy into all the hype. half the folks on here represent a cut down company so its all biased. if it fits your personal style good go for it but if you think that just because you jump on the cut down band wagon your gonna turn into a duck killing machine your dead wrong...FACT! at the end of the day a duck call is just a duck call, don't matter what kind of sticker or label it has on it

Sunnyb is a good choice. If he wont go, pm mollywhop. He's the south Arkansas world champ and is the only guy I know who can sound the exact same on a cutdown with a mouth full of grizzly wintergreen as he does without.
