If u had the chance to go on a trophy whitetail hunt with a rifle where would u go.

I have this oppertunity and I may never get the chance again. I want to get the full experience with the nice lodge and the whole nine yards.

My dad will be joining me and he mentioned Kansas because he knows u can rifle hunt. This will also be his first and possibly only chance to do this as well.

If y'all can name specific outfitters it would help lots. Just googleing this gives tons of results and they all look good at a distance.

Kansas? Iowa? Northern Michigan? Maybe. But I bet a trophy hunt in Saskatchewan would be hard to beat.

If I was gonna go all out and fork over the money, it would have to be Canada for me. I dont think that would be for everybody though. Extreme weather, and probably not going to see as many deer as other places.

I would also look into Nebraska or Missouri for this type of hunt. Their rifle seasons are in the rut. Generally, this is why they dont get the big press as "big buck states," but if you fork out the cash it could make for a good hunt on a well managed property.

Far northern Missouri is an often overlooked place. Over the counter tags, plenty of big deer, and you can use a rifle.

Illinois and Indiana are out due to the fact of no rifle season. I like the idea of Canada but not sure I can get the old man to go for it. I did see some prices on Canada that were not any higher than any other place. I'm sure the air fare and getting a gun up there would add up tho. Northern mo dont sound bad either. I know a guy that owns a farm in vandalia mo and I have seen some nice deer up there.

A lot of great places to go. If you want to see tons of deer every single day then go to Texas. Kansas, Iowa, Illinois are all great but you wont see the deer like in Texas. You would have a much better chance at a true giant in the midwest. If you would be happy with a 150 or so then you cant beat Texas.

A 150 would tickle me to death but the old man has 2 140" deer on the wall now. I would love to see him get a chance at a 170 180. The first area that popped out of his mouth was Kansas. Btech I know u are familiar with this area. Are u familiar with any outfitters that would offer an amazing hunt with the lodge and all. I know the lodge doesn't make the hunt but I don't want to stay in a motel or an old trailer that Is junk.

If you want a 170 class deer with a rifle then Kansas is your best bet. I never use outfitters but Ive stayed in Hickory Creeks lodge and its really nice. He has some really good ground too. I hear the Hashknife Ranch is pretty good as well.

I would for sure go to Kansas. I plan on going there when I draw a bow tag. Of course I am going to have to hunt public land and stay in a motel.

I have really wanted to go to northern missouri here recently but canada has always been one of my dream hunts. Kansas would also be great. I work with a guy that has gone to Kansas a few times now and he has come back with a 140" 8pt and a 180" 12pt.

Just a rumor but I thought I would throw this out there. I heard Kansas is changing their tags to any method. This means you can bow hunt and if you dont kill you can go back and gun hunt. I hope it goes through.
