Has anyone heard if Wattensaw is going to be open for bowhunting when they open the flood zone from dec. 26 to jan. 8 Thanks for any info.

I read on the facebook page somewhere "sorry bowhunters you're going to have to wait until the 26th to hunt the wma's" but I am confused...it sounds like they are opening everything except hurricane and black swamp....I'll call monday for sure before I head out

Boy I tell ya opening the private land for gun hunts and not opening wma for bow only is something I just don't understand. Agfc has got it all figured out????

It states on the AGFC facebook page that it will be open Dec. 26th- Jan 8th

Wattensaw is open until Jan. 8, I called AGFC today, they said it was open

Flood Prone Update December 27, 2011.
There has been some confusion regarding the emergency proclamation and flood prone openings.

In addition to private lands, the wildlife management areas within the flood prone regions will be open through Jan. 8th.
The only areas that are closed due to water levels include:
-Choctaw Island WMA.
-Henry Gray Hurricane Lake WMA.
-Rex Hancock Black Swamp WMA.
-Big Lake WMA.
