Has anyone shot a six point about two weeks ago at watensaw with a bow if so i found ur dear dead his skin and fur is still attached suprise the coyotes hasnt got to him yet but his rack is small just saying i found the deer if u need your rack

I just read my post from earlier and it didnt come out right... I was meaning the 6pt I had seen had a lot of potential... If he'd had eye guards it would have been tempting

With the 4x4 slot, I can see why you found the deer. Sounds like somebody didn't want to risk taking out an illegal kill---ground checking---oops! It just ain't right..... (unless it had 4 or 5 on one side and 2 or 1 on the other.)

When did he shoot it? It looked like a perfect shot and I dont see how this one ran far at all... I found it sat morning and it was 20yds off a trail right between some hardwoods and a pine thicket...yotes had gotten this one some

Its a bunch of hunters that don't take the time to see what they are shooting ..then when they find it leave it there instead of getting caught ..

he shot this one weekend before youth hunt right as u get too wattensaw on the first handicapp trail bout 3/4 of a mile back it was a perfect shot after he shot it it walked by me at 50 yards or so and u could hear it gurgling blood looked like someone walked through the woods with a 5 gallon bucket pouring out blood i dont believe there was an exit hole though.

More than likely there is a little suspect issues with this one if nothing else with just the fact it was left to start with if it was hit like you said, more than likely would have not been hard to find to start with but what folks may or may not know is the 4x4 reg only applies to adult hunters. Even with it in place a youth 15 & under does not have to abide by it, they are allowed to harvest any buck on Wattensaw or any other WMA with this reg in place without regards to antler restrictions. Several of the slot protected buck were legally harvested & checked during the youth hunts that took place on there.
