I'm new to the area and was wondering if there are any easy ways to walk-in at Bell Slough. Any help is greatly appreciated.

New Guy,

I just moved here a few months ago and walked into Bell Slough about 7 times. It can be done but you have to be very slow and methodical about or you will get wet (as i did about 3 of the 7 times). The water is up since then, and walking has become about twice as diffucult. I will say that the hunting is only fair, with most of the ducks being banged by the boaters closer to the lake.

PM me tho as i just bought a boat (due to getting wet one too many times) b/c my huntin partners are movin out of the area next week, and i may have an extra spot in my boat for a few cases of beer. haha

Wassup airforcehunter? I seen you made it back down south. Any luck in the slough? The last few times we went it wasnt worth it. Few woodies and thats it. If your puttin in at the main spot and gettn to the horseshoe hole you might get a few bigheads but havent been in awhile. Good luck getting there before the youngins in the pirouges. They are pretty quick!

The Slough has been Sh*t

I guess i am one of the youngins you speek of in the super stealth pirouge (haha) But your right, me and my partners hunted Jan 2nd on and only shot one hooded Meganser between the 3 of us. But I will say i think its gonna get alot better with the boat now. We can get back to the main lake area, and we saw more dux in 3 days than we had seen our whole season so far.

Hopefully the main migration gets own here b/c the next few weeks i am on 2 day work weeks. Lemme know what days your gonna be out there, and ill see if i can skybust your dux at 3 Treetops !!!

Well i dont know about you, but the few dux that are in there are about as call and deke shy as it gets.

Has anybody been getting any limits outta there???

I did once the 1st day of the second opener. It only got worse from there on out. Havent been since the 28th of December when radwheeler and I went and got 1 greenhead. He went back since and said they are gone. I have been hunting Bayou Meto and a private lease that my buddys dad has in Wabbaseka. Going to go fight the crowd at Bayou Meto this weekend since the Cache is down.
