Mollie hasn’t been in the woods in two weeks because I’ve been hunting the pup as much as I could. But this evening I left the pup at home and let Mollie do some work. My brother and I hunted about 2.5 hours. As always, a few got away. But I can’t complain. We brought out 19. It was a pretty fun hunt. My brother even twisted one out of a tree. Been a while since I’ve needed to cut a good twisting stick.
Mollie got gravy for dinner tonight.

12 this evening. It took us a while to figure out the squirrels were not in the big timber. Once we got in the brushy stuff, they finally started dying. And then we ran out of daylight.
My oldest boy should be off next weekend, so we’ll be hunting his pup then.

It’s ok. I’m sure they’ve all moved somewhere else by now. The one thing I’ve figured out about squirrels is that I haven’t figured out much about squirrels.

Mollie looks like a fantastic dog! And that looks like a whole lotta fun.

It is a lot of fun. Mollie is a great dog, but she’s just kind of middle of the road as far as squirrel dogs go. She doesn’t have much of a steering wheel and some days she acts pretty stupid. But I don’t post those pictures lol.
