I was sort of wondering about the trout fishing there myself.
I've never been trout fishing before and would like to give it a try one of these days. The Little MO. river is probably the nearest place from here so I may have to drive over and wet a hook sometime.
i haven't been yet but wanting to go. the only advice anyone has given me yet is to pay close attention to the generating schedule (especially hinds bluff area). they said you can get trapped on the far side and not be able to get back across. they also said it can get really crowded on the weekends
Anybody ever done much fishin up close to albert pike.

i've been up there a couple of times trout fishing, i wasn't very impressed with the trout fishing. it is too small a place and too many people fishing where they release them. it is supposed to be really good smallmouth fishing though if you hike back towards the winding staircase waterfall, if i ever go back that's what i'm planning on doing.
Just so happen, my young'ins were playing basketball in Delight today. After the game we rode to Murfreesboro just looking around and decided to get some burgers and have a picnic down on the river. There were not many people there fishing, but right after we got there, 2 men were leaving with what looked to be there limit. As I was chowing down there was a guy flyfishing that caught probably 6 while I was eating. He was having pretty good luck. Not all there fishing was doing as well, but they were biting pretty good. I wish I would have thought about carrying my fishing junk!

Only been camping and fishing there for about the last 25 years. :thumb: My dad has been going there for about 55 years. The trout don't grow in that part of the river, but the 12" fish they stock can be fun on some ultra light tackle or flies. And yes, the small mouth fishing is good there in the spring. The water gets pretty low in the summer, but after a good rain, it gets up pretty quick and there is a feeding frenzy because all the mountain creeks feed the river with all that fresh rain water. It’s one of the most beautiful places on earth IMO! There is nothing like wading for small mouth and taking a break on one of the many gravel bars and sitting listening to the water run and the wind blow through the trees. :thumb:
