I have harvested deer with a muzzleloader and modern gun this year. I've never been successful with a bow but I'd like to get the triple tophy since I'm this close.
Bow hunting has been fun. I see lots of deer. I just can't seem to get them to come within 30 yards - my max range with a bow.
Do any of you bow hunters have some tips for a gun hunter?
Yep, or near a small food plot or get to where they are going into one, obvious trails and such. Or if you don't have any luck and it's really cold later in Jan, get with some honey suckles and browse like that.
If there aren't any food plots, try to find some honey suckle. That and green briar will be good areas to hunt, they will be in there browsing. I've had good success doing this on WMA's before and private too.
