Getting into trapping and was looking for some tips. Spent the last week runnin about 70 traps with a buddy of mine thats been in it for a few years but nobody knows everything and was just looking for a little extra help. Gonna start on coons and beaver. planning on getting a dozen dog proofs and half a dozen 330s. any advice is appreciated.

You can get 3 doz. 1.5 duke coil springs for about the same price of the doz DP, gives you a lot more sets you can make and you can catch a few fox or cats in your coon sets.

Buy and USE at least one safety for the 330s...two would be better, keep one on your person in case you lose one and keep one on the 330 your handling until your ready to walk away...

Also, learn to set one using a rope and keep one with you...if you don't and you ever get caught in one you'll think back on this post...:banghead:

Additionally, think on using snares...you can build your own cheap (less than $2 each) and put a snare anywhere you could set a 330...
