The big weather story from later tonight through Wednesday into Thursday will be widespread, substantial rain amounts. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expeced, with some totals in the 4 to 5 inch range possible. Smallest amounts are likely to be in the northwest corner of the state. Given the expected rainfall amounts, some flash flood watches or warnings may become necessary.
There will be some thunderstorms with the rain. By far, the best chances of severe weather will be in areas to the south of Arkansas. If an isolated severe storm or two were to occur in the state, they would be in southern Arkansas from Wednesday into Wednesday night.
