Who's going to be the first to post in the new year of their 2023 catch? I'll vote for Dartonmav, or it could be one of the many crappie gurus.

Boys I have to apologize, having this much fun when I should be deer hunting should be illegal. Now I can’t even think about deer hunting and I really wanted to fill one more tag. @jackie53 is it really legal to have this much fun? Does it get better when I retire cause I can’t stand this! My heart can’t take it! I told the wife catching a nice smally was better than sex. She said having sex with me was like catching a smally. I said huh, damn woman, never mind? But that’s another story. But hey !!! You boys want a good fight , tie on to one of these in current! You’ll think it’s a 9 lb largemouth .. I promise.

Today was really slow and cold. Wind changed directions at least 5 times through out the day but was able to get Honeybun and I a decent meal. Even saw my crappie mentor Ol @OFD out there running my honey holes. I think he scratched out a decent meal as well.

Been using huckabees for several years. Great rods 14-16’…they’ve even got the 18’ out now. However, I also use the Dobyns 14’ Josh Jones edition a lot and it’s a much lighter weight rod with just as much boat flipping backbone. The industry is quickly filling up with top of the line jigging poles..HH, Ozark rods..the list goes on and on.
I’ve been thinking about ordering a K-Rod. How much heavier is it than the 14’? I really like the 14’ Huck I have, but not sure I want any more weight. Still thinking about ordering one of those Dobyns we talked about but man I’m jig pole poor.

Went out to the same spot and caught the same thing, 10 walleye with 8 keepers. Since I knew exactly where to go, it only took an hour to catch them all. Some a little bigger than last night with the largest about 22 inches. All males and all dripping milt. Believe I'll give it one more shot tonight before the rains come and screw everything up.

Cheers.....
Man I hope we miss most of the rain. Would really like to fish a crappie spawn without continually rising water that eventually ruins it.

Finally...a smile instead of that ol' sour puss.
He finally took his fiber and wasn’t constipated.

Tough bite, but that bass was fun on a 16’ jig pole.
