Team #18 are we the only ones hunting?

Well I managed to put a few points on the board. Got this 7 pt this morning about 15 minutes after getting in the blind. I worked yesterday from 7 am til 5:30 pm and went to my sons football game. After the game I asked him if he thought I should go hunt our ground blind in the morning and he said yes definitely. So I went back to work at the gun shop and worked til 3 am went home and crashed for 2 hrs, the alarm went off and I decided I couldn't get up. After I went back to sleep the alarm went off again:skeptical:I had hit the snooze. I got to thinking about my little boy helping set up the blind and how excited he was that I was going this morning so I got up. I got to the blind and got the windows open and everything situated and it was just barely getting light enough to see in the food plot. I looked up and he just walked out and crossed the plot with no hesitation. I scrambled to get ready, I didn't even have an arrow nocked, and he stopped at 12 yards were the remains of a pile of rice bran was in front of my trail cam. I couldn't see my 20 yard pin because it is green but I could see my 30 yard pin so I held low with my 30 and released. I didn't see the arrow fly because of the shoot thru screen but I heard the solid whack and he ran off like he was hit hard. I thought I had smoked him! I waited an hour just be safe and got out to find my arrow and the blood trail. I found NEITHER. :smack: I was getting pretty worried by this point. I decided to make a few more sweeps where I thought I heard him crash and there he was with his white belly shining.:biggrin::biggrin: I hit him a lil high in the left shoulder and the arrow buried in the right shoulder. The scapula moved over the entrance hole and there was no blood trail, I couldn't even back track him from where he fell. He only went about 70 yards. Not my best buck but I had already decided to shoot the first legal deer without spots and I am darn tickled with him.:thumb:
