Thinking of trying sylamore again this weekend, any suggestions?
cartney area has been a waist of time 3 times for me this year
Go deep or go home. Or find a flat spot. But the big guys are in the bottoms.
I saw more deer this past gun season than I've seen out there in years. I suggest you get low. With all the road hunters on top, I've always had good luck going to the bottoms. With all of the ice damage it is real hard to get one out but it is worth it. I killed a buck and had to drag it straight up the mountain about 200 yards. I ended up cutting the deer in half to get it out. We have always hunted off of Perry road. Seen and have killed some big deer there.
I haven't been therein several years but these other guys are telling you right.
Go in and go downhill from the road into one of the deep hollows. I use to go into branscum hollow. I never spent a day down in there without seeing deer and turkeys. But it's whether you want to drag one out of there or not. I did once. I'm too old to do it again. I should have cut it in half.
Buck-Ridge, did you camp on Branscum RD?
I always drove from home when I hunted there and drove home at night.
