My 9 year old got his first gobbler at 7:15 yesterday morning. We were set up on the edge of a small food plot with one gobbling 150 yards to the South. A different, silent gobbler walked a dim road into the East of the plot and joined 5 hens that were doing a lot of KeeKee Run calling. My son broke the turkey's beak and cut his snood clean off with a heavi shot magnum blend out of an 870 20 gauge at 20 steps. He had an 11 1/8 inch beard. The turkey tore himself up pretty good flopping around in wet rye grass with my son trying to figure out how to grab him. The only thing that can match that was when his older brother got one sitting in my lap.
