splurged a little
Well after using my walmart bow for the past two seasons, i decided to splurge and by myself something nice. I went to Neshoba Archery in Tumbling Shoals Friday before work to look around. I told myself I was going to by the Hoyt Vectrix no matter what. Once I got up there and looking around, I picked up a Mathews DXT. I hate Mathews, I guess its like what Nikes are to the shoe company, way over advertised, BUT this bow felt so darn nice. I love the way it feels, its light, and about 5 inches shorter than my old bow. I gave $649 for the bow, $70 for HHA sights, and a whisker bisquit. I can't express how much I love my new bow. I also picked up two more dozen of Easton ST Epics, with the blazers already on which will save me fletching time. Today I picked up a quiver for it at Academy. The Hoyt was too heavy for me. I also looked at the Reflex Growler, and it felt like hauling a boulder around.

Excellent choice. I bought a new SBXT when they came out and love it. I shot the Drenalin last year and the DXT when they came out this year. Nice but I was wanting something other than a Mathews so I bought a still new 07 Bowtech Tribute. Nice shooting bow too. Like 'em both equally, different draw cycles but both will flat out shoot.

I've been shopping for one myself. Just can't seem to get off the money. Congrats.
I thought all bows were made the same, . But this bow shoots really accurate, and feels great. I know from now on I will aways have G5 Meta Peeps put on, or atleast 1/4" peep sight, my other bow has 1/8" on it. I really like HHA sights too. I should have shopped around for a used bow instead of dropping $900 on a bow setup, but I really like everything about DXT. This is coming from someone that hated Mathews...

You only hated mathews because you did not have one. You wont find many who dont like mathews after they shoot one.

Most of the folks I hunt with shoot Mathews of one sort or the other...both brothers, father, couple buddies etc. I conciously told myself NOT to buy mathews when everyone hyped em. So when I got my cash together and decided I was going to buy, I shopped around. I shot the PSEs, I shot the Hoyt, and I shot the Bowtechs (admitedly didnt shoot the new martins). And after shooting a good dozen or so shots through each of their top brands, I went and shot the DXT just so I could say I did. Didnt even need a dozen shots. Just pulling it back and letting the first couple fly...it just feels so good for hunting. Ive been trying to get to the range about once a week since March, and each time I go Im STILL completely happy and enjoy shooting it. I cant wait to get into a treestand with it.
