2004 Yamaha 25 4 stroke for sale. This motor screams. I have only had it in the water once. It seems to be too heavy for my boat. It is great for fishing but I worry about running through flooded timber that it will sit too low at the transom. Not sure on price. It has power tilt/trim, which is after market. I would also be willing to trade for a yamaha 2 stroke 2006-2008

Seriously folks I really want to get a 2 stroke for the weight reasons. I really don't know what its worth. I know how much I paid for the whole boat. Its gotta go but I am not losing money on it. I just want a lighter motor.

Not really interested in buying anything, but just curious. How wide is the boat??? I have a 25 Merc on my War Eagle 15-42 and am curious if the 4 stroke would be an issue should I ever decide to go to a 4 stroke. I've heard a lot of good things about the Yamaha's, but I'm happy with my setup right now.

Mine is a 1542 as well but that 4 stroke is heavy and holds the rear of the boat only about 4 or 5 inches from the water. In other words you better not stop quick. I sure would rather have a 2 stroke. But I may have to make this work.

yeah but the yamaha's are higher than that. I have priced them at 2850.00 for at 2 stroke. I wouldn't have a merc if you give it to me heard way too many people having problems.

I would love to go buy it but I have to sell this one first. I just don't want to be out any money. Thats why I would be willing to trade straight up for a 2 stroke.
Yeah, I figured you'd want to sell the other first. I just noticed their prices the other day and figured if you sold it sometime soon that price was a little cheaper than the other you quoted before, so you might want to check it out. I'd love to have either one of them, my old 76' Johnson 25 HP is way too cranky most of the time!:smack: Good luck selling your motor.

Dang, run just 1 time in 3 plus years???? Man, if you have not had the boat in the water but once & it is a 2004 model I would not be worried about getting rid of just the motor, I would be getting rid of the whole rig if I didn't use it any more than that!

I just bought it used. I bought it on Saturday and put it in the water on Sunday. It runs like it just came out of the factory. Its fast real fast. Its just a little too heavy for hunting but its great for fishing. I thought someone might have a 16 or 17 ft boat that is a little wider than mine. I believe that it would work great on a larger boat.
