With work, kids, and wife there's just not enough time and daylight for me to hunt them and work with them the way they need to be worked right now. I'm tired of looking out there and seeing them sitting in that pen! I have 2 papered Feist dogs. 1 Barger feist and 1 Mullins Feist. Here is everything I know about my dogs both good and bad without the papers sitting in front of me.
1. Barger: Female about 1.5 yrs old (I would have to look at the papers) is lightly started and would probably go real quick with an experienced dog. Gentle with kids. Likes to ride on the 4 wheeler. Has multiple champions on her papers. Not gun shy. Hunts hard in the woods with her nose and does not mind ranging out to about 150yrds but will come back. She's still after fresh track and hasn't figured out how to stay put on the tree. I really think the only thing wrong with this dog is that shes not being hunted like she should be! Killing me to let her go but I know Im not doing right by her.
2. Mullins: Out of Mullins Ashley and Chances Pup. Bought from Mr. Mullins at the beginning of summer. Big dog pushing close to the 30 lb mark. Block head. Was treeing this summer before I got tied up and he hunted hard and fast the last few times I have taken him out (but did not tree). He does not range out quite as far as the Barger about 75 is what you can expect. He makes big figure 8's in the woods and is really fun to watch. Not gun shy. Gentle with kids. Mr. Mullins sayed he would bark breath for breath with his dad on the tree when he was sold, and I have seen him tree for me. Just not since I have only been able to take them out a few times a month. I bet he would go with an experienced dog as well or a good roll cage session. He loves to ride on the four wheeler and knows how to load.
