I can't even fathom how something like this happens with a bow. Lack of communication? Really lousy target ID? Son or dad did something stupid?

All speculation since we don't have facts but I know if I killed my dad in a hunting accident there's no way I could live with myself.

Link won’t open without registering, which I’m not gonna do, but it is possible that maybe this was a crossbow incident. Crossbows loaded trigger gets bumped, etc.
Course I can’t read the article so I don’t know what type of bow.

Here’s a literal snap shot of the article.

It's a SD paper. Didn't ask me for any registration.

Could have been a crossbow I suppose that went off while walking together. Article doesn't say. That would help make some sense of it.

Turkey hunting has morphed into a crazy passtime, from when we used to go in before daylight, find a wide tree to lean back on, make a few calls and wait! I stopped the sport after having a few instances of idiots running right past my tree...never hunted again when my PIL passed away, he was my pard!
