What would my measurements be on the right antler? I may be wrong but I am thinking that I would get a mass measurement between the G2 on the small point and then between the small point and 'G3'.....or would that considered a non-typical point and just get one measurement between the G2 and 'G3'.....or would the small point be considered the G3.......The more I type the more confused I get.
From the pic, it looks like a typical point to me, so consider it the G3. Some may not realise (yes, I know there isn't an "s" in that word, but the correct key for that word doesn't work!) it, but even on a four point side like the left side in the pic, you still get four circumference measurements.
So would the point just above the browtine be counted as a typical point too...it comes off the top of the main beam and then goes back. I am not tring to be a smart A, I am just trying to figure out how I would score this rack. I didn't kill it so it doesn't matter to me what it scores, I am just tring to expand my knowledge.
i don't really know. My guess would be that since it's in a spot on the mainbeam where there isn't usually an additional point that in may be considered non-typical.
Abnormal Points are those non‑typical in location (such as points originating from a point or from bottom or sides of main beam) or extra points beyond the normal pattern of points. Measure in usual manner and enter in appropriate blanks.

This rack has normal G1's and normal G2's and normal G'3s so the additional point above the G1 is abnormal to pattern.
Also the little point between the G2 and G3 does not fit "normal/typical" pattern so it is abnormal also. They are both deductions scored typical.
The little point between the G2 and G3 does not matter what direction it grows off the main beam. Up, down, or a sticker out to the side, it is still a deduction because it is not of normal length or "fit" the pattern of the rest of G's.
This is a typical 8 pt frame with 2 abnormal points that are deductions, period.
A two inch long tine halfway between a normal spaced 10" long G2 and a 9" long G3 on a mainframe eight is not considered a "normal" occurrence....therefore it is an abnormal tine. It coming up from the mainbeam is not a consideration in this case...size and location is the determining factor.
The tine next to the G1 on the right antler is for sure an abnormal occurrence...(same as a double eye guard would be....double eye guard is not listed as a G1 and a G2..would be a G1 and an abnormal tine)

you'll have to humor me here but what if the G 2 on the right mainbeam had been broke off in a fight and was only 2 in. long. Would it then be considered a non-typical point?

I scored the rack yesterday at a gross of 119.5. I didn't calculate the net but it would be pretty close to 110.
