I picked up an old stainless bull barrel pre-Accutrigger model 93 in. 22WMR in a trade. It has lived a very hard life but will do for what I have in mind. I've cleaned everything up and plan to paint the synthetic stock. I was checking barrel to stock clearance before I paint the stock and can't decide if I should create clearance on the larger initial section of the barrel. Anyone have experience with one of these?

You should be good to go. Those stocks suck but the 93’s are usually tack drivers.

It's going to be one big experiment. I'm going to bed the action, fill the butt stock and the hole sections in the forearm under the barrel with foam and paint it gray with black webbing and a matte clear over the top. I was thinking about glassing a carbon arrow in the forearm for added stiffness, but that sucker is heavy enough already.
