Anybody out there catchin these little fish? Ive never caught them but id really like to learn. i know right now below dardanelle dam is a good place. Ive tried a few afternoons after i got out of class, just wondering if any body has tried for them, or know a good way to catch them

I fish for the Sauger's bigger cousin the walleye up in North Arkansas all the time. Any type of minnow type hard bait like a shadrap or rattling rogue will catch them. But the best fishing is always at night. These kind of fish do not like bright light so if you fish for them in the daytime, you should do it on cloudy or rainy days. They usually spawn in the March/April time frame which is a great time to catch them. Can't stress enough that night time is the best time for these critters.

I have tried below Dardanelle dam with not much luck did catch a few crappie.

caught a few on Monday below the dam at Morrilton. Had the best luck with a tube jig and minnow combination
