Anyone ever sanded their duck call reeds like you do a goose call? Have a couple calls that are hard to blow just wondering what the effect was? I know cutting the reed helps but I struggle to not cut to much. Anyone have suggestions?

I don't sand mine, but I do shave them. take a sharp knife and pretend to shave hairs off the reed. You'll make tiny cuts and shave tine splinters off and will make a little easier to blow and help with sticking.

don't sand it w/ sand paper, use a finger nail file on the fine side and do it light lightly, do a couple of strokes then try it do it that way till you get the desired soundyour looking for
