Last year I acquired a S & W target pistol. It is new and found that it will not fire CCI long rifles or other "cheap" ammo. The mag will allow the cartridges to spring out . It does like Remington Thunderbolts. The problem is that it will fire three rounds and then after that the firing pin will slightly dent the cartridge but will not fire it. I cleaned the heck out of it and it still performs in the same manner very consistently. Any suggestions?

I've got a S & W semiauto that shots good, but you have to keep it very clean and shoot high velocity ammo to get it to funtion well. CCI Stingers are what it likes best, it work perfect with them. Standard 22 ammo and does just like you say yours is doing or it will jam.

I'm sure it is just a magazine issue that can be fixed with new springs or a new follower. Shouldn't cost much and you'll make that up on shooting cheaper ammo. Contact S&W and I'm sure they can help. Or just go to Brownell's and purchase and replace the parts.
