I bought a Ruger 10 22 a couple of months ago and put it under the back seat. Now that deer season is finally almost over I pulled it out to find one of the scope base screws has vibrated out. Evidently the fellow I bought it from didn't use loc tite. My question is what size screw do I get to replace it and where would I get one?

You're talking from the scope base to the reciever right?

Factory scope base screws in the 10/22 are 6x48. Any gunsmith should be able to provide you one. Last resort is to buy a complete base and screw set. A Weaver TO-9 will do the job for about 5 or 6 bucks.

Add to that, use BLUE locktite, not red. Blue is removable, red is permanent. Red takes heat to break the bond, you may end up stripping the fine threads of the screws.
