I'll probably be using corn in my feeders and hopefully we'll get at least one bag of rice bran in bulk that we can feed from time to time.
In my experience the rice bran works well till the acorns start falling and then the deer hardly touch it for a month or so before finally starting to eat it again.

Which do you use? What is the going rate this year? I have heard anywhere from $8-10/50# bag for bran. I haven't checked around on the others.
Corn I have been seeing it in wal mart or around 7 dollars a bag. I am going to take a couple of 55 gal drums with me on the dove hunt this weekend and have the farmer fill them up with corn I will buy it from him in bulk and be a lot cheaper. I dont know if you know a farmer or not but if you do you might check in to doing something like that.

I put out Deer Cane - Liquid, Acorn Rage Pellets, Corn, Salt Licks, and some Candy Apple Molasses stuff....they all got hit.....THE SAME. Their is one doe, that prefers the Deer Cane spot more than the rest, but thats about it. Corn is cheaper then and last longer then all of the attractants/food listed above, so I will stick with corn. It was $8.47/50LB bag at the co-op last saturday.

Around here there is no better attractant that soybeans soaked in water. I take half a five gallon bucket of beans and fill it the rest of the way with water. By the next day I'll have a whole bucket of beans. The deer will eat them dry but much prefer them soaked in water. They don't go through a feeder to well though. I just spread them out over the ground and the deer clean them up. I spread them so they won't mildew and also it takes the deer a little longer to eat them all.

My experiance is...they love the corn...but turkeys and bear and everything else eat it to...if youll take some corn and get the deer comin, then start feedin rice bran...the bucks love it and it takes em a lil longer to eat it from my experiance. just my two cents
