As the title says, I have a Remington 742 .308 carbine for sale. This gun is extremely rare and in excellent shape. This is the older model with steel buttplate. Very clean rifle with no rust or dings!! Price is $575 and located in Conway. Scope in pics is NOT included. Why do you torture me with guns I want at Christmas? Sweet gun!

It appears you have removed the rear sight to accommodate the scope. Do you still have the original rear sight, and the plastic dust cover that goes in the breech?

I have one just like it with the steel butttplate and it's an awesome rifle. Here's a bump for a great gun.

Not interested in trades at this time. Yes I have the rear sight and not really sure about a plastic dust cover; haven't messed with the breach since I've owned it

Is the buttplate steel? The ones I have seen were aluminum.

Could be aluminum? Not plastic or rubber

I have a 742 I bought in 1971. Killed a lot of deer with it. I have pretty much retired it. Got a lot of memories with that old rifle.
