Really??? A courteous duck hunter???

Hunted today north of Clarksville on the river on an area we scouted last week. There weren't many birds in the area so we didn't know exactly how the birds were gonna work. When we got to the boat ramp, we didn't expect to see anyone since its an out of the way ramp, but there was a truck that had already launched and two trucks pulled in behind us.

Well, we got out went and talked to the guys and come to find out they hunt that area all the time and we were both wanting to hunt the same spot. Instead of be all jack-headed about it they told us to go ahead and hunt the spot and they would hunt around the bend. We thanked them and asked them about their general experience with the birds there and they were real helpful. It was just refreshing to meet some nice guys out hunting.

We finished up early because there just wasn't any birds in the area and headed to the local eatery to get some breakfast. Well these guys were there and asked us about our hunt and we just talked "duck" for a couple of minutes.

We didn't kill one duck today but I do have to say that it was one of my best hunts this year.

good to hear stories like this... there are alot more good ol boys in the woods than we all get credit for... you just dont see people coming out talking about how nice people are, its usually the other way around

Mitch, I know a group of guys that hunt up there a lot, and they're really good people. They'd do anything in the world to help you out. Don't know if it was them or not, but I'm glad you had a great time.

I promise if you bump in to me in the woods and we are lined up on the same hole I'd ask if you want to just be a group . At no shame in my game

really I'm a bad shot I need somebody there to kill ducks lol .

Well it's good to know that there are some other nice guys out there. I would be scared to say if you would receive the same treatment in bayou Meto!

I'm the same way. I'm gonna invite them in and try to have fun and meet some new folks. If they are a smarta** I tend to go in the other direction pretty quickly but as long as everyone's polite I'll help you in anyway I can!

Thats refreshing to hear. I enjoy talking duck with other hunters and its pleasent when someone is friendly and not mean mugging and starring you down at the ramp like you just stole their paycheck.

Lol people are that way !!! I got enough vegetables to turn away from a throw down . I don't like to hit or get hit "it HURTS" lol they only way I see a a good @$$ kickin is worthy is if someone is tryin to cause harm
