My dad and I fought the wind at daylight and finally managed to hear a bird gobbling on the next ridge at about 6:30. We started up the ridge and called about half way to the top, and the tom gobbled below us, he had already started towards the bottom we started in. We jumped on the closest two trees and he came strutting in about 45 seconds later. He had a 10 inch beard and 7/8 and 6/8 inch spurs. My hunt was over by 6:45 and spent the rest of the day running the video camera for my dad.
