I went riding today and saw one lone hen with no poults that I could see anyway. Is there any chance they are still sitting or would they all be hatched and eatin or eatin before they hatched?

I've been seeing a group of 6 in a hayfield by my house.
2 or 3 hens and 2 or 3 jakes and 1 longbeard strutter.
    No little ones.

I have seen two different hens in the last week - neither with poults.

Me and my boy saw 2 hens with around 10 poults Saturday morning at 10-15 steps. One of the poult groups were the size of bobwhite on steroids and the other poult group was almost the size of chickens.
One of the quail size pitched up a flew about 20’. This was in central AR.
