new/ never own or shot a crossbow, but getting older and if I want to keep hunting need to make changes. So thinking about trying a used , to see if I like a crossbow, Here what I found a horton hunter supreme sl crossbow . What I need to look for as for as cables and string wear ( don't want to put a lot of money in a used one, after I bought it ) and what are you ideas on this crossbow good/bad any help.... any idea what it's worth ? can't find anything about it online.....THANKS for anything . :head:

I just this year bought a used Horton Yukon crossbow, pd $200 with quiver and red dot scope. Look for cracks in limb and string unravelling. New string costs about $10-$15 and $15-$20 to get put on. I really like mine, first archery hunting i done.

the hazards(cracked limbs, weak limb, cam lean, etc. ect.) and wear apply to a compound crossbow as vertical compound. horton crossbows are usually good, solid bows. price would depend on what all comes with it, scope, arrows, case, what year is it, what pound pull?

Have you looked on eBay. You can sometimes find good deals on there.

Pawn Shops I seen some good ones for less then 200.

Most of the time the limbs have a lifetime warranty on them if they are cracked you can send back to the factory and they will replace free and also replace the strings or at least that was my experience with Parker.
