Old School Duck Hunting

It seems like everybody wants the latest and greatest duck hunting gear they can get their hands on. Do any of you use any gear that you consider "old school" (ie. guns, boats, clothes, etc.)?

Yep...I consider my boat pretty old school. Early 80's ouachita with a 1971 Johnson. Not the coolest, but does a pretty good job.
Browning A5, Old Duracraft and regular decoys and no Robos.
Boat 1969 Ouachita, 1997 Johnson 15 horse, bibs I bought in about 1978, sometimes wear my 1970's Jones hat, goose call I carry is a 1963 Faulk's, sometimes shoot my 1972 model 870 Wingmaster.. All the above is still in good shape and I take pride in the fact that most of it works as good as some of the newer stuff I see at the ramps..
Old clothes for duck hunting?

A modern boat or gun is probably just incrementally better than a 30 year old model (or worse), but your gor-tex, neoprene, and fleece is going to blow that old stuff away......
Dang! Sure is interesting to hear other people say they have Ouachita boats as well. I have one also and not real sure of the year, guessing early 70s......these are the absolute most stable boats I have ever been in including some really nice big duck boats.

I wasn't suggesting that old clothes are as good as newer ones. Some people might have some hand-me-downs that serve their purpose fine. I wore the same Columbia coat and overalls from 1986-1999. I would still be wearing them if they still fit.
I lose too much stuff. There's plenty of gear I would love to have that I had back in the day. I just got new bibs and coat this year. I was wearing ten year old Columbia gear before that. Got to admit, this new stuff is much more comfortable too.
Jerk-string and kicking the water? I don't own a mojo. Don't plan on it. Don't own any Mallard Machines or swimmers or anything either.

And I shoot cheap steel shells...

Old School? :head:
Jerk string and kick water, blow an olt, wear solid color mcalister clothes, shoot a remington 11-48 2 3/4 shells only, have a 1442 and a 1540 monark jon boat both with late 80's yamaha made mariners on them, one a 30 and one a 25. sometimes i shool lead
Broke out the punt gun and the wooden decoys and canvas coat and hand crank call
78 years old and shoots more reliably than my Gold.......Yeah, thats old school....

That's old school and best school!
Wish I could find my buddies pic. Has been using a Turkey gun on the few hunts he went on with us. Went on leave, and ended up getting a 1912 something or another with a 30" barrel, and has been slaying ducks in TX. This was a hand me down, but talk about OLD SCHOOL. For myself I am new to duck hunting, but besides my waders, and Drake half fleece everything is old deer hunting stuff, or military issue. I guess you can call the military stuff old school since we changed uniforms a few years ago, and now all of the brown/ black undermarments I have aren't authorized for the most part. Although now everything is tan so it might be even better.
Browning, them squeelers are old school also...lol.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
