try a jellyhead choke and winchester extended range 3 or 3.5" shells and you will have a 40 yd gun. Have not seen that combo fail in a mossy yet!

You can get a little more velocity out of a longer barrel but I think you reach the point of diminishing returns at 28" or 30". My preference is a 28" barrel I like the longer sighting plane and the patterns are great, but tht is only a personal preference.
