Heavyweights are reportedly ~30% denser than lead. Nitro's Mega-Weight is reportedly ~13.5% denser than lead. The mega-weights are a cocktail of shot 4X5X6X7 (mostly #7) and heavyweights are currently offered with only one shot size in the shell.

Upshot: Not like Federal Heavyweights, but something new to tinker with at the range this year. Going to have to make some phone calls first to make sure these will jive with various chokes.

(And most bbdh's should like the new nitros as they incorporate the word "Mega" into the name.)

They are made by nitro so yes. Are about the same as their hevi shot loads n

 

yes there 5 dollars a shell and ive tested them against hevi shot 3 1/2 567 vs there version 56 7 1/2 and hevi out performed in my gun but both are punishing to shoot alot.

Thank you sir, I don't follow it closely enough to be in the loop on these kind of things. I did use to shoot Nitro 4x5x7 and they were pretty wicked. Don't have any experience with TSS or heavyweight either. Who makes both of those? Are they a nitro product?

 

TSS is crazy wicked. You have to handload it though and it's expensive. It is tungsten super shot. A number nine has same density of a number six heavyshot.

I wouldn't change a good thing. I shoot the same load as you and it's perfect for me.
