I'm looking for a new turkey gun. Right now I'm shooting a Mossberg 835(a real dinosaur). There's nothing wrong with it just ready to upgrade. I have looked at the Remington 1187 turkey gun but have heard it has problems. What do you guys recommend?

Benelli Nova pump in 12 ga, 3 1/2", or the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 1/2".....or if ya want a little more,,,,,,BPS 10 ga..
I bought a Browning Gold Auto a couple years ago in .10 ga. and i still haven't found a choke that will shoot good through it. The best i can get is 32 yds with a Kick's .690 choke tube. The gun even came with a turkey choke and NWTF endorsement sticker and i am totally unimpressed. I can get a better pattern out of a .410..... but it is a pretty gun if that counts.

I wouldn't shoot a mossberg if you paid me too. I had a 835 for 10 years and sent it in for a new bolt to be put in 6 freakin times and everytime I did it would work great for about half of duck season then I would suddenly own a single shot shotgun. My younger brother has a 835 turkey gun. I told him not to buy it. And guess what happened this year.... It started to jam at random we took it apart and cleaned it, same thing happened the next day shooting skeet. In my opinion Mossberg makes a cheap insufficient gun and their customer service stinks to high heaven. But this is just my expierence.

that's what my current turkey gun is. 870 Super Mag with Mossy Oak camo. Shoots like a champ with Remington super full turkey choke and #5s.
That's exactly what I have too. I haven't found a shell that it wont shoot better than any shotgun I've ever owned. From dove loads, #6 lead, any turkey load, to 000 buckshot and everything in between, it's the best shooter I own.

I've heard that from another friend of mine..I use my 935 strictly for turkey and haven't had a problem..Don't know if it's cause it's auto and not pump or that I just shoot a few times each year with it..
