New to Little Rock Area, Where Do I Go?

I was wondering if there are any good public grounds to hunt for turkeys around LR, NLR, Sherwood.

I'm from Rsvl so some of the finest turkey hunting in the state is 30 minutes to my north in Piney Creeks. I've been spoiled apparently. I was wondering if there is any place to hunt relatively close to Sherwood.

I know Winona is fairly close but it's still and hours drive. Anywhere else around here to go? Or would I be just as well off driving back to Rsvl and hunting the land of NOD (north of Dover) with my Dad?

Froman living in the rock!!!!!!!!

Close ............I don't think so.:frown:
I have heard Winona gets real crowded. You might make a few to tour over to the Ouachitas in montgomery county or western Garland county. You know get you some alternate places set up.
From an old father/husband to a younger father/husband.......find as many excuses as you can to go hunting.......it relieves the stress:wink:
I can tell you from experience, as I live in Cabot (not my choice), and call the River Valley home. Go back to dover!

just so ya know, the ouachitas outside of winona are just as crowded (especially around the lake)
you could call your normal guide and see if he has any honey holes

shifty
Fro go north- the last time I hunted Winona I parked and walked in way before daylight- when my bro and me came back there were 4 trucks parked behind me- you aint never heard all the crow calls and owl hooters in the woods- man I was afrid to make a sound and I am sure the turkeys felt the same:smack: When I lived in LR we hunted allot around Ferndale and Lake Maumelle but I am fairly certain that its probably all posted nowadays!
The only turkeys I've seen in Little Rock carry guns and spend alot of time driving on I-40.:smack:
You can always put in for a camp robinson permit, genrally 3 day middle of the week hunt.
