your woods?
Ok. To stay on the legal side of the AGFC and the Forestry Service we have to know. Are they really "YOUR WOODS"? If its public land there really isn't any legal means to improve the deer numbers in them. You can't legally plant anything. You can't bait legally either.
If they are "YOUR WOODS"? Meaning you or your family own them or you know the land owner and have permission to hunt and manage them. Then the first thing to do is set up a bait pile or corn feeder. In loger terms you can do a food plot and a pond. In terms of years down the road you can plant persimmons, white oaks, etc.
Just deciding to begin managing the deer is a big step. I wish you luck.
