Does it drive any of the other working people crazy that the game and fish opens season on a Monday? Thankfully I am blessed with time off but it still really bothers me to have to take off of work to hunt opening day in our state.

I’ve always felt like if it’s a priority, one can take off a day or two to hunt in most cases. It’s mostly about priorities. I’ve known guys that take off to golf and deer hunt, then complain they can’t take off to turkey hunt. Looks like their priorities are backwards. Monday openers do spread out some pressure, and even more so with the one turkey, first week.

Why would that make a difference if it was April 1st or 21st as to why he was shot? I'm 100% sure that had absolutely nothing to do with the season opening later now.
Did you at least help him out of the woods after you shot him in the face?

I see both sides of the argument. I likely won’t be able to make it this year due to prior commitments so I’ll just ask the turkey gods for snow or rain and 30 mph wind on the opener for those that do get to participate

Would you feel the same about muzzleloader or modern gun openers on Monday?

I can only think of one reason to start on Monday vs. Saturday and it is in direct conflict with their “we need to recruit more hunters, license sales are declining” agenda. Typical government, talk out of one side of their mouth and s**t out of the other. But hey, remember it’s for the greater good!

Everyone gets in ruts where their free time is limited due to work, family, etc.
If you consistently can’t hunt the openers, it’s because of your priorities. Not saying that’s a bad thing- just is what it is.
Brother, don’t try and bring personal responsibility into a discussion where we can bash AGFC. 🤣🤣🤣
