You can sell green or dry fur. Some of the buyers will buy some whole frozen animals; especially bobcats & otter (some of these go for taxidermist use). If you plan to sell green skins that have been frozen you need to take them out of the freezer early enough so they are completely thawed out so the buyers can examine them. If whole, they are best kept frozen and frozen stretched out so the buyers can see all of the skin to look for fur damage and quality. :thumb:

Yes, you can pay your deposit at the meeting and get in the drawing. If you pay ahead of time I can already have the names prepared to put them in the can. The meeting is at the Woodmen of the World building at Arkadelphia. The address for the Woodmen of the World building at Arkadelphia is: 315 Deceipher Road. It is off of Highway 51 about 2 miles South of Highway 8. If you send me your deposit (and membership if you are a new member) be sure to include your Customer I.D. number or your hunting license number and your email address. :flag:

Does anyone have any idea as to what coon hides will bring. I would just like to do the math to see if it will be worth the effort.

Can you give us an average price for the various furbearer pelts?

I used to trap alot when I was younger when the woods were wider. What's a big coon sell for, now? Or, how about a mink? Are they still sellable? It's been 3-4 years since I saw a mink in the wild.

Someone asked what would happen if someone came to the sale and had not been in the drawing for lot numbers and if they could sell 80+ coon hides in one lot. Here is the answers I gave:

Anytime after the drawing if someone wants a number they can get the next available lot number by paying their dues (If they are not a member) and the $10.00 commission deposit.

You can sell all of your coons in one lot if you want to. If they are green, tie them in bundles of 10 or less to make them easier to handle. Most people sort them by size and list them in different lots depending on size. :flag:

Bobcats, fox, coyotes if whole should always be stretched out length ways when freezing.

Some people dont understand that fur is a good insulator so they freezer gfaster!

Other wise the belly hide turns green.
