well i have a similar problem with mine on getting that connection at the shaft off where the wire goes in! My wire didnt break off but apparently moisture and/or water got into the motor and its locked up. probably from that same connection! i have an old trolling motor that im gonna cut the shaft off of it - connect original trolling motor wiring to the mallard machines - fill the cut shaft cavity up with expansion foam (let dry then trim it up) - then put a thick tar cap on top and hope it dont leak? only thing i can think of doing? i think the original mallard machine connector where the wire goes in is glued to inside of motor shaft. now that nut wont twist off on mine either. if you cant get it off just get a cheap trolling motor and rewire. trick is kepping water out............
