I know exactly how you feel. Had many dogs in my day. Some real good memories come back thinking about them. My favorite was a half beagle half bluetick dog. We called him Blue of course. He started with his litter mate Jake. Jake vanished one hunt and we never saw him again. he was a fine a deer dog as I ever had. By the time he was 4. 7 out of ten times he struck a trail it be a buck. Was great at tracking one up. He never offered to tree. But on the 4th of July. You could take those 10 shoot roman candles light one and shoot the fireballs in a tree. He would stand on that tree and bark treed as pretty as any coon dog ever born.
