Anyone want to hunt together at Rainy Brake in the morning? I have only hunted there once, so I won't have much to offer than a little calling and conversation.

Went this morning...it was crap. Ducks were 10 miles high and the ones that did fly tree top level wouldn't respond to calling, kicking water or jerkin' the ole cord..We hunted the mobility trail at sky bust. Lots of gunshots near the rest area, don't know if they were shooting song birds or woodies.

Sky bust corner got its name honestly! They're nearly always high by the time they get there. If you can find a spot along either the north or south rest area lines you can get in some pass shooting even if they won't work the calls.

This is the worst place in the workld for sky busting. (I know that's a mouth full) but people actually line up and down the rest area boundry and shoot at ducks flying in and out.
Me, I am done dove hunting in September, but these people are nuts!! I went one time and said, "no mas".
hhunter, hope you find someone willing to take you and you have a great time. If you do go and hunt on the line, I would take a flak jacket!! Oh, and when those jack legs set up 50 yards away, don't get too mad!! Actually, if you have 50 yards of space between you and the next group consider yourself lucky!!!

Go ahead and go down there in the middle of the week when there's hardly anybody there and try to light ducks in the decoys. It's the last week of season pal...those ducks have heard every call on the planet. You go ahead and go blow on your call and watch ducks while the real duck killers limit out!!

using an electronic call sure saves your breath and really works those duck in nice and close!
