I am looking for a lease in SW Arkansas for primarily whitetail deer. I was an avid hunter for years, but have spent the past 13 years very busy with being a husband, father, and business owner. My two sons are old enough to learn some of the great lessons that hunting can provide, but they are the quintessential city dwellers obsessed with computers, video games, big screen TV’s, etc. etc. They received rifles for Christmas and I have been able to pry them away from joy sticks, keyboards, and remotes long enough to teach them firearm safety and responsible shooting practices. They grow up with Dad’s deer heads and hunting pictures and to my great excitement have taken to their new sport with more enthusiasm than they do to their new Nintendo Wii.

We live in Shreveport, LA and are willing to drive 2 to 3 hours (we’re used to it we have an office in Dallas too.) If anyone has any information for a lease in this area of Arkansas with 200 to 500 acres, please contact me as soon as possible. Thanks

I'm in the Texarkana area, so I'll keep a lookout for some land. You may want to get the boys out and travel up to Lafayette County WMA for a little look around. This could be the right time of year for that, just take Highway 3 north out of Bossier City. It turns into Highway 29 in AR, follow signs. Remember that AR has a youth hunt in early November so this WMA could work if you can't find a lease.

Soarkrebel:

I figured you were just busy, I did speak with Pickloop and mentioned our plans; consequently, I have not forgotten about you either.
I just haven't gone over in a while. I may load up and go spend the night tonight. I have some stuff to get done before easter.
I have been working on another tract or two but it would help my duck guys more than most.
I still have your number somewhere I'll look and see if I can find it.:smack:

Maybe, but I have read some of your old post and I would have to say at a minimum you know about 200% more than me. I am trying to shorten the gap though, so I can a least not look like some weekend hunter from the city who is just out to kill.

Speaking of stupid hunters from the city:

I went down to the aforementioned 80 acre tracks last weekend. Within about an hour I got my wife's Yukon stuck. Then stuck more trying to get unstuck. I called triple AAA and they told me they would be there in about three hours. No problem, got out my lunch and hunkered down for the wait. Well, within 10 minutes 3 neighbors show up due the sounds of tires spinning in mud. After they drew straws on who was going to pull out the too clean Yukon, it took about five minutes and I was free.

With a red face, ten or twenty thank you's, and refused offers of compensation from me, I was on my way. On my I swore to myself I am going to either purchase a winch or a 4x4, and when I do I will stop every time I see someone stuck.
